PPM works by extending the schema to support Password Policy objects where you can define your desired password policies (see figure below): |
- Password length - Use of alpha characters - Use of numeric characters - Maximum consecutive characters - Maximum instances of any character - Algorithm comparison with old password |
The Administration software is implemented as an NWAdmin32 and ConsoleOne snap-in for use with Windows 9x, Windows NT/2000 and Windows XP Pro. (Support for Novell Portal Services is included.) |
Schema extensions are also made to container classes, such as Organization and Organizational Unit to include a Password Policy attribute. Through this attribute, you associate the policy to be applied to all the User objects in the container. |
